Established in 1988 as a trading company, the Adani Group today is India’s top infrastructure and energy conglomerate. It is the country’s largest ports and logistics business, private power and transmission player, integrated mining player and agriculture business. It is also India’s leading solar power generation and manufacturing company. Through its presence in the renewable energy space, the Group is not only continuing to develop India’s infrastructure but also contributing to its energy security. At the same time, our expertise in the renewable energy sphere allows us to pursue global opportunities in a world that is increasingly seeking cleaner energy. At the Adani Group, we are committed to building a greener tomorrow. We have already set up the world’s largest single location solar PV manufacturing plant and are aiming to generate over 10 GW of renewable energy by 2022 primarily in India, Australia and USA.
The core principle that guides the Adani Group’s businesses is nation building. Accordingly, we set up India’s first solar PV manufacturing plant with a capacity of 1.2 GW per annum to produce components across the entire gamut of the solar PV value chain, from polysilicon to modules. We are also building one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturing clusters to house an entire solar manufacturing ecosystem with 3 GW of capacity per annum.
India has pledged to reduce carbon emissions at multiple climate fora in Doha, Kyoto, Paris and Marrakech. We have built what is today the largest solar generation entity in the country, as a clear sign of our commitment to help India meet its global obligations.
Mundra Solar PV Ltd (MSPVL) is the first Indian firm to set up a 1.2 GW solar PV manufacturing plant to produce solar cells and modules, with an aim to backward integrate into Polysilicon, Ingots and Wafers.
Headquartered at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Adani’s Solar PV manufacturing business, has offices spread across the globe. The Adani Group’s steadfast commitment to building assets for future generations paved the way for our foray into Solar PV module manufacturing using advanced technologies of Multi, Mono PERC and Bifacial cells.
MSPVL is a fully vertically-integrated business. Adani’s Solar PV manufacturing arm is the first Indian company to vertically integrate businesses that offer services across the spectrum of photovoltaics manufacturing. Our cutting-edge technology, cost leadership, scale of operations and reliability set us apart from our global competitors and give us a unique competitive edge.
Our Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Mundra, Gujarat, is one of the world’s largest to play host to the entire solar manufacturing ecosystem from Polysilicon to modules, including ancillaries and supporting utilities.
Adani Green Energy Ltd. builds, owns and operates power plants powered by renewable sources of energy like solar and wind. The firm holds India’s biggest solar portfolio and, with a capacity of 648 MW, operates the world’s largest fully-operational single-location solar power plant at Kamuthi in Tamil Nadu, India.
Adani Green Energy (AGEL) Limited was established to build on the Adani Group’s success and growth story in the renewable energy space. In a short span of time, AGEL has become India’s largest solar generation company.
The journey began in 2012 with the opening of a modest yet, what was then the largest, thin film technology solar power plant of 40 MWp at Bitta in Kutch, Gujarat. This early achievement motivated AGEL to progress swiftly. It commissioned 60 MW of wind power projects in Madhya Pradesh with an additional 140 MW of wind power projects already under various stages of construction in Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan. Its biggest achievement to date has been the setting up of the world’s largest solar power plant with a capacity of 648 MW at Kamuthi in Tamil Nadu, India, followed by India’s largest Horizontal Single Axis Tracker-based power plant with a capacity of 100 MW in Bathinda, Punjab.
